Tee Ball

The HYBA Tee-ball League, a modified tee-ball league, provides instructional level play for our association’s youngest players. These include 4, 5, and 6 year-olds playing baseball for the first time.

All Tee-ball League players are given an opportunity to play a variety of defensive positions, and to face pitching from their coaches. Batting tees are used as required to assist with batting instruction and hitting during games. Games are played on Salem Park Fields 3, 4, 5, and 9.

Practices will begin approximately April 1, depending on weather and field conditions. Games will begin in mid-April and run through mid-June.

Tee-ball & Instructional Leagues play Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

Instructional

The HYBA Instructional League, provides instructional level play with more advanced rules compared to our Tee-ball league for our association’s younger players. Our Instructional League includes 6 year-olds with prior baseball playing experience and 7 year-olds playing baseball for the first time.

All Instructional League players are given an opportunity to play a variety of defensive positions and play more advanced rules. This league is coach pitch only. Advanced rules include permitting players to take more than one base on a hit to the outfield and encouraging players to make the baseball play at a base without penalty of runners advancing on a passed ball. Games are played on Salem Park Fields 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9.

Practices will begin approximately April 1, depending on weather and field conditions. Games will begin in mid-April and run through mid-June.

Tee Ball & Instructional Leagues play Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

Junior League

The HYBA Junior League offers continued instructional level play for our 8 year-old and experienced 7 year-old players. This league provides a transition to Minor League play and introduces pitching by the players. In Junior League games the pitching duties are shared by players and coaches – batting tees are not used in games. In addition, Junior League teams will have potential opportunities to play some games on larger fields with expanded rules.

To assist in forming Junior League teams with a balanced range of playing abilities, and to ensure that an appropriate skill level has been attained to ensure the safety of 7 year-olds desiring to play with 8 year-olds, brief skills evaluations are conducted for 8 year-olds and returning 7 year-olds. Special requests for children to play with specific coaches or teams cannot be honored at the Junior League level.

Salem Park Field 9 is the primary Junior League field, although some games will also be scheduled on Fields 4 and 5. When possible, some games will be played on Minor League fields pending field availability and sufficient development by the players.

Practices will begin approximately April 1, depending on weather and field conditions. Junior Leagues play Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

Minor League

The HYBA Minor League provides instruction, league play, and tournament opportunities for our 9 and 10 year-old players. Minor League games are played on Salem Park Fields 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7.

Practices will begin approximately April 1, depending on weather and field conditions. Minor Leagues play Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Major League

The HYBA Major League program provides instruction, league play, and tournament opportunities for our 11 and 12 year-old players. Major League games are played at Salem Park Fields 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7. All games are officiated by umpires from the Cumberland Valley Umpires Association.

Major League plays Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Intermediate (50/70)

The 50/70 division offers players league-age 11-13 with league play as well as postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series.
